Lowestoft Whitton - Your Health, Carers Advice And IT Tips (1:30PM - 4:30PM)
YOUR HEALTH
Waveney Community Forum Four Towns Bus is in Lowestoft today offering health advice.
This is your chance to meet Health Trainers, Jackie Southam and Helen Crowe who want to help the community with advice on healthy living and to talk about any health problems you may have.
Helen and Jackie help people with health issues by raising awareness of health through prevention and promotion campaigns, they have also developed a Community Mental Health Action Group, providing a support network to promote self help. The Trainers work in partnership with Great Yarmouth and Waveney Primary Care Trust.
A large part of their work involves meeting with people to help them develop a Personal Health Programme that allows them to identify their own health issues and understand how they can change their behaviour in relation to them. This often involves Smoking Cessation, referrals to the Community Nutrition Team and other community based health resources.
This week is Men’s Health Week, so men and women, hop on board the Bus to meet Jackie and Helen to find out more.

Disability Awareness (10:00AM - 2:00PM)
This course ius run over two half days.
All aspects of disability are explored and guest speakers from disability organisations attend to answer questions and give insight into particular disablilities.
